Last Day in Scotland

Monday morning we woke up to pouring rain and walked and drove around Glasgow a bit and were overall not impressed, but could have also been due to the rain.  After an hour of that we decided to head back towards Edinburgh to visit the Roslyn Castle where they filmed part of the Da Vinci Code in.  Unfortunately, they were doing major construction so you couldn’t see much of the outside and the inside was small and couldn’t take pictures.  But, we were there and then headed into Edinburgh to see the Castle.  The castle was gigantic and took about 2 hours to get through it all and we were not even reading everything and didn’t visit all of the museums inside of the castle walls.  I estimated a good 5,000 people were visiting the castle at any given time.  After the castle we grabbed some food, did a little shopping and headed to the airport.  Overall, a shortened but great trip to Scotland and we were just wishing we had more time.

Luckily, we arrived on time to Dublin, took a cab to our hotel dropped our bags off and went out so Nicholas could have a Guinness in Ireland and see the Temple Bar area.  We were able to find a couple pubs open long enough to have a Guinness and a Smithwicks and called it a night.

Overall, great trip - unfortunate we did not stop and take a picture of the one Highland Cow we saw on the first day in the highlands.  That and the Loch Ness monster were the two things we wanted to find and take a picture of and failed miserably on both!
